SCBWI LA

Yesterday, Derek Molata posted a roll call on his blog for writers attending WisCon. (Which includes me, yay!!)

Um, so today I'm copying him--but for SCBWI LA!

I'm really excited because I'm registered and hoteled and flighted--and I want to know who else is coming!

So I thought I'd leave this post open like a forum! In the comments, let me (and everyone else) know:
  • Are you going?
  • When are you arriving?
  • When are you leaving?
  • Have you been before? And, if so, is there anything you want to share about past experiences?
  • Are you looking for other people to meet up with while there? (The comments section could be a great place to find people!)
  • A link to your blog, so other people can find you.
  • Any questions you have. (Not that I can answer them or anything, but maybe someone else can!)
  • Anything else you want to share =)
As for me: I'm flying in on the 29th and staying til the 4th. Even though the conference ends on the 2nd, Alexandra, Carol, and I are staying a couple extra days to have fun in LA. (Like getting tattoos and piercings and stuff!)

Oh! Oh! Oh! Also, today--I'm guest posting on Ramblings of a Wannabe Scribe! My post is about the joys of being Shannon's CP and it's served with a nice helping of Shannon Shame, so definitely go check it out =)

    Aw, I want to go! I might be able to swing it too, since I don't have to be anywhere for work that week... I'm going to have to think about it (fast!)

    I get to go! I'm so excited!! Me and my cousin just registered. We're flying in on the 29th and staying in the same hotel as the conference. We leave that Monday so sadly we'll miss the autograph party. :( We're going to try and see if we can catch a later flight, though. We would LOVE to meet up with some of or buddies from the blogging world. Here's a link to my blog:

    I'm going! I'm arriving on Thursday morning and leaving Monday night. I would love to stay later/get there earlier because I've never been to LA (or any SCBWI conference) but I have a "real" job I need to get back to. So my one day of LA fun will be Thursday. I would love to meet up with some other people! I'm meeting one of my writing buddies/CPs there but we'll want to get into all kinds of shenanigans with other writers, so the more the merrier! I'm also really nervous about approaching agents and pitching and wondering how that whole thing is done.

    I would love to get to know anyone, and especially people who are coming to SCBWI-LA!

    Ooh! I'm going!

    I've actually decided to give up on this adult literary fiction thing and write for Middle Grade readers. I think there's a better market for it, frankly. All that sex and violence stuff I write about gets tiresome after a while, y'know?

    I'll come along for the tattoos too, if you don't mind. To signify my change of heart, I'll be getting The Cat in the Hat tattooed on my cheek.

    You know I'll be there! Can't wait, chica! Still don't know what the tattoo will be, but it'll come to me. Or, well, I'll decide on it anyway. Wonder if anyone is up for a tattoo session with us. Ooooo, we should make appointments with the parlor from L.A. Ink.
