books and beignets and bloggers, oh my

I'm off to New Orleans,
heck yeah dude,
I'm headed to ALA.

Gonna chill with friends,
and get some books,
and eat my very first beignet.

Are you coming too?
I hope we meet--
come find me on Saturday!

At Tommy's Wine Bar
there's a blogger party
hosted by YA Highway!

If you can't come,
I'll miss you so.
But we'll hang out another day.

Plus, I'll be back next week
with pics and stories,
and probably some stuff to giveaway :)

If you tell me your mouth isn't watering at this picture,
I'll call you a liar.
Just sayin'

Clearly, I'm no poet--trust me, I know it.

Wait.

Okay, stopping now.

For reals.

Knowing you just read that poem is embarrassing. If you can even call it a poem. My cheeks are burning. Seriously. But I ran out of time. So that's what you get.

Don't ditch me.

*clings*

Anyhoo. I'm super psyched to go to New Orleans. It's my first time :) Catch you dudes on the flip side.

xo

  4. What fun. Our family did a one day trip to New Orleans last year. It's only an hour flight from Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

  6. You are going to LOVE IT there!!! The food, the drinks, the music, the architecture and scrolled iron work, the hoodoo and voodoo and ghosts and...the books! The writer friends!

I'd say have fun...but you WILL, thus, redundant. :)

    Hugs and love,
    Lola

  9. I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to go there! Maybe it's because of Anne Rice. Or maybe it's the beignets. ;D Enjoy!!

  10. Beignets are to die for! I literally looked at that picture for about 10 minutes. I think I drooled. Have a great time! New Orleans was super fun when I visited.

  15. Looks good!

You have a fabulous blog! I’m an author and illustrator and I made some awards to give to fellow bloggers whose sites I enjoy. I want to award you with the Creative Blog Award for all the hard work you do!

I invite you to follow me, if you haven’t already done so, since we have a lot in common, but no pressure. I’m not giving you the award just so you will follow me. You really do deserve it!
    Take care:-)

Go to http://astorybookworld.blogspot.com/p/awards.html and pick up your award.

    P.S.

Since you are an avid reader I was wondering if I could interview you and get your insights into the books you enjoy.

I'm also looking to interview published authors (agented, self published, small press, etc.) to find out what they wrote and what the pathway to publishing was like for them.

Let me know if you are interested in being interviewed and I will send over the questions you can fill out at your leisure. My email address is Guidedhope (at)gmail(dot)com.

  16. Ahhh, the beignets...mmm.

Also, I agree with you about Cafe Beignet. Finally got a chance to try it. Wish I'd tried that one on my first day. Or maybe not. I'd have eaten probably double.
